| The Road goes ever on and on,

Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And I must follow, if I can |

Driving through Australia

New South Wales, Australia

Travelling through Australia is always enjoyable. The landscape changes quickly and the scenes are glorious. This photograph is taken travelling through Gibraltar National Park. The district gum trees, rainforest ferns and shrubs are a brilliant display of the Australian Landscape.

[ noun]

This is Australia

This is Australia
This is amazing.
This is Home.

Everyone’s travels their own road, path or journey. We cannot travel someone else’s road, as much as we sometimes would like too. This wild rob us and those people of our own opportunities and life lessons. No matter how difficult the road is for you or how easy it looks for someone else, we must be content to walk on our journey. Only we can see the beauty for which our lives have been created.

This Lonely Road

This photograph was taken as I visited a friend south of Brisbane. It was a grey and dreary day. I wandered around for a while looking for photographs but the light was dull and the landscape, depressing. As I crossed this road, I was immediate struck at the sight. A lonely road is rather a foreboading sight.

Sometimes I wonder why life is sometimes lonely. Life is often hard, and full of problems. How is it possible to see the sun on dreary, overcast days?

I wrote in a previous post ‘Into the Fog’ about where we are travelling and the path that life takes us. We don’t often know where we are going. As we travel along our road there are roadblocks that often hit us or the road is long and lonely. We don’t know when, how or why things in life happen to us. Life’s harships can cause even the strongest heart to feel faint. How can we never lose hope in the purpose in our lives when every thing around us shouts, you are alone and nothing goes right for you? How can I keep being strong and pretending that life is lonely and my heart is breaking.

Psalm 34:18 says, ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

This promise reassures us that the Lord is with us. He knows and feels our pain. Even though life presents its challenges we must continually rely on the knowledge that He is with us where ever we are and whatever we are going through.
