Carpets of Purple

New Farm Park, Brisbane

In October every year, New Farm Park in Brisbane comes alive in a glorious display of purple. The avenue through the park is aligned with a canopy of Jacarandas on either side. The leaves fall to the ground and creates a carpet of purple flowers. The jacarandas only blossom for a short time and invades the beautiful park with the powerful purple. I have  always loved the display of colour in October, the sometimes dull and dreary streets come alive in with the colours of springtime and you can’t help but feel alive too. If you are ever in Brisbane make sure you visit New Farm Park, located only a few minutes away from the CBD and the Brisbane River. It is truly one of the icons of Brisbane.

Bought some beautiful flowers from the markets today. It is a lovely feeling to get up early on a weekend and go out and about.

Compassion costs. It is easy enough to argue, criticise and condemn, but redemption is costly, and comfort draws from the deep. Brains can argue, but It takes heart to comfort. Samuel Chadwick

Daisies in the Dew

I went for an early morning walk and saw fields of daisies. It was a glorious morning and the light, delightful. It was a very enjoyable ‘photo taking’ walk.

I discovered a new flower during my latest photography adventure. This is a Dahlia, it is quite a stunning flower.
