Mt Mee

photo (2)

Mt Mee, Queensland

Summer break has finally started so I thought I would get back into photography.

I went for a drive into the mountains and national park. The hills always seem so green and luscious.

There is something about the cool mountain air that always leaves on refreshed.

Hope you are having a great week:)

Abort Landing!

The photo of these clouds shows a bright and sunny world which does not show a hint of the storm that is below. Flying into Singapore about two weeks ago we had to go through quite a storm. The clouds grew gloomy, and rain hit the sides if the plane. A flash of lightning pierced the clouds and then the plane started to shake as we began our descent. Just as the wheels if the plane were about to touch, the plane plane jolted, accelerated and aborted the landing. Yes, it was slightly disconcerting. I have never been in a plane where the landing was aborted so suddenly but it added to adventure and excitement of the trip. After circling for a further 45 minutes waiting for the storm to pass we landed safely at Singapore airport.

It is a glorious winter day today in Brisbane.
Hope you have a great day too.

So glad it is the weekend!

Sunshine & Shadows

‘Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you’
Walt Whitman

We had an afternoon storm in Brisbane this afternoon. It came over quite quickly and as I watched the earth darken for a time I was reminded of the ‘storm’ Boston is going through.
Sending my thoughts and thoughts to all those affected.

An edit of one of my favourite photos. Taken at Stanthorpe, Queensland.
It is moments captured like this which are the reason I love photography.

Words can’t describe this capture so, I’ll let the picture say it all.

Another overcast day in Brisbane. The autumn weather has started and after a long, hot summer the cooler weather is finally here. This photograph was taken by of the side of the State Library of Queensland. I love the way the building’s design incorporates the pants on the exterior of the building. It is a beautiful contrast of architecture and nature.

Noosa, Queensland.

We have been having some rather grey weather at the moment. I took this shot at Noosa beach yesterday. The shades of colour came out brilliantly.

Hope you all had a great Monday.

Looking for the Sunshine

Queensland is now on a cyclone watch, again. We have endured some very intense weather already this year. Many people have been affected by cyclone Oswald and the floods that followed. I know there is not much that we can do about the weather other than to pray. We have endured a great deal and that endurance creates character in us and we become better people. This gives us hope and we should hold onto that. Someday soon the sunshine will come again.
