Lest We Forget ~ 100 Years of ANZAC

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

~The Ode from ‘For the Fallen’

Reflections on Lake Burley Griffin

The beautiful Lake Burley Griffen, Canberra turns 50 years old today. It is one of my favourite places to visit and photograph.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

My Country

My Country
By Dorothea Mackellar

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

Went exploring around outer Canberra today. I found this road and thought it was a perfect view for a photo.

Snowy Mountains

These are the Snowy Mountains. It is autumn here is Australia (hence the absence of snow) these are the highest mountains in Australia. They were made famous by the Snowy River which begins from these mountains and also the poem, ‘The Man from Snowy River’.

Beautiful Australian landscape.

Parliament House, Canberra

My holidays have begun today and I have stared with catching up on some photo editing. One of the most beautiful cities in Australia is the capital, Canberra. This photo is taken outside of the Parliament House, Canberra. It’s unique structure makes this landmark stand out. Canberra is located 3 hrs south/west of Sydney in the Australian Capital Territory. The city itself is not the largest city in Australia but is the political capital of the nation. There are many national icons, monuments and beautiful landscapes to photograph which is always very enjoyable and wonderful place to visit.
